We reach out to others in need
Food for the Soul
On the fourth Wednesday of each month, formerly known as the Street Ministry. Beginning in the Chapel of St. Luke at 11:30 a.m. with song, Bible teaching, anointing for healing, participants then gather in the gym for a sit-down meal and fellowship. Everyone leaves with groceries to take home.
A ministry developed to address the spiritual, faith based needs of mental health consumers. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, a home-made supper at 5:30 p.m. is served followed with a time of fellowship, prayer and discussion on any number of topics integrating a personal faith journey.
A ministry of caring and contact with our many permanently or temporarily homebound church population. No person’s willingness to help is too small…from writing a get well card, making a phone call; making visits or providing once in a while transportation.
Like to knit? Want to learn? Want it to make a REAL difference? Prayer shawls are hand-crafted by this group for delivery to the special needs and circumstances which present themselves regularly by the grace of God.
Well, we don’t always feel that way, but when we gather for fellowship, programs, trips or a retreat, we realize that being ‘seniored’ is still a time to make memories, re-live memories and realize that ‘young’ is of the spirit and mind, if not the joints and bones!
If you are interested in any of the above or would like to find out about other volunteer opportunities, contact the Parish Administrator, Sandy Moncrief or email or call 585.454.3367.
